What to look for
- A steady stream of insects in and out of one point in the roofline or a bank
- A papery, grey nest visible in a loft, shed, or under the eaves
- More activity on warm afternoons and around bins in late summer
How the barrier deals with it
- 01 Treatment at the entry so returning foragers carry it into the nest
- 02 The nest left in place to fail rather than cut out live, which scatters the colony
- 03 A safe-distance check the following day before the all-clear
